I recently finished redoing our dining room table. It had a super dark cherry-ish stain before.
I have to be honest, this table turned into one of those projects that would never end. I was all gung-ho at the beginning and then life got the best of me and this turned into a BEAST of a project for whatever reason.
This table and chairs were hand me downs when we were newlyweds. Despite the dark wood color that I personally would have never chosen, it is a really solid piece of furniture and I really loved the ladder back chairs and farmhouse look of it.
The dark just had to go.
The white is Swiss Coffee by Glidden and the chairs are spray painted in Jade by Krylon.
My friend Nikki has introduced me to the wonders of paint + primer. It's a few extra bucks but boy does it have AMAZING coverage. So I definitely recommend the little splurge [which really its like 5 bucks more... so I'm not sure that it qualifies in the splurge category]
Also, spray painting chairs is definitely awesome because have you ever tried to paint a chair with a brush? Well, it's not my cup of tea.
And when I say tea I mean torture.
I really love how this revamp turned out and you betcha I am SO thankful it's over.
It looks amazing... Seriously I may copy as soon as spring hits! I so love! How many coats did it take for the table? And how many cans for the chairs?

Looks Great! Did you have to sand the chairs first? I have a few I have been wanting to spray paint but sanding chairs hasn't sounded very fun.

ReplyDeleteThese are exactly the colors I've been looking for to revamp my kitchen table and chairs. They are currently the butcher block table top that looks like a light oak and the frame and spindled legs are white and the chairs are the same. This was the style 15 years ago but it's gotten old and I'm ready to re-create my living room space that also leads into my dining room and kitchen. I'm going for a shabby chic look but I will go against the grain some by throwing in a few bold colors such as turquoise, mustard and grey! Once I complete this project along with the kitchen table set it will look as though I splurged and bought a new kitchen table set even if it is a tiresome project,it will definitely be worth it if it turns out as good as this one!
