Some light & bright for ya.

I think every Spring I get the itch to freshen up my WHOLE house. It might be normal, or a disease... my husband would agree with the latter.

Our family room is where we spend almost 1000% of our time. So I think it was a shame that it didn't reflect my style very well before. It previously was a little dark for my taste and the entertainment center shelves were far too cluttered. You can see the before here, even though making me look at those pictures made me cringe a little. Yuck.
I've been working on lightening the space up, and restyling those darn shelves. I think they are almost to my liking.

I turned the books backward to make it look more streamlined and less cluttered. Some people think it's a sin to do that [uhemm, like my husband] but my eyes prefer it. And since this is where our TV is housed, I am constantly looking in this direction.
I love that my home is filled with family pictures. I think it's the best art around.
Those chalkboard baskets I picked up at Target and I love them.

A few vintage finds, and a few handmade things here and there.
And LOTS more baskets for toys, diapers, tv remotes, etc.

My husband jokes that I have a wicker basket obsession problem.. but I think they are so useful I can almost always use more around my house. Dont'cha think so? Oh you don't... well fine then it may be a problem of mine.

One of my favorite prints from Jones Design Co.

I love this vintagey tray that I found at Joanns of all places.

Our new chevron rug from Urban Outfitters.

Ahh, that's so much better.
