Putting together my daughters room has been quite the journey.
I've changed my mind on the direction I wanted to go about a bajillion and a half times.
I knew the general end picture I wanted to arrive at-- classic & vintage yet fun & colorful with absolutely NO pastels that might induce vomit from my pastel-intolerant-self.
So I've gone the handmade unconventional route with her room. Conventional is over rated, boring, and so not me anyways.
Here is what I came up with for above her crib. [which is pretty grand, so I knew I had to do something on that wall] I absolutely love how it turned out.

Here is the source of my inspiration:
I made my version with a canvas, burlap, and some floral fabric that I had lying around. It actually worked out perfect because it has all the right colors from the fabric in the quilt that I am making for her.
& this is what Grace was doing the while I put it up & took pictures. My typically happy little helper was pretty beside herself. She is stuck somewhere between needing 2 naps but kind of really only wanting to take 1 some days... and it makes the afternoons hazy around here.

That's a really cute crib, did you make it?
Cute. I love the way it turned out.
She is such a cutie!!
This is gorgeous! I am in love with the crib too. Just popping over from TT&J. Oh, and your little one is beautiful!! Happy weekend, Ali
What cute little lady you have there! Probably not old enough to appreciate all the hard work that her mommy put into that Union Jack. I like how you used some flowery fabric for some of the lines. Non-conventional, but PRETTY!
That looks great! Love that crib too :)
If I am not mistaken that crib is from Bonavita, it is now discontinued. It was actually recalled, I believe. We made ours into a beautiful bookcase by using one side as a back piece and slicing the other side down the middle and attaching them to make the sides of the bookcase. We added shelves and we are in business:)
Love the art.
LOVE IT! SOOOOO CUTE and perfect for that spot! stopping over from miss mustard seed :)
