Sometimes I just can't help myself...

Saturday, October 4, 2014
During our doll photoshoot, Ashley snapped some photos of the kids while they played and waited for us to be ready for them. I just thought I would share how sweet these simple snapshots turned out.  What's even better is how amazing (and beautiful) these two little kids are inside & out.

Grace is almost 4. She is my little social butterfly. She has the sweetest heart, my little helper. She is thoughtful and sensitive. She is curious and loves to learn. She is my little best friend and partner in crime.

Hudson is 15 months. He is literally one of the sweetest kids alive. He is always happy and smiley. He is calm and patient. He is an entertainer and snuggler. He brings a smile to everyone's face and gives out hugs freely.

Snowflake party for a girl who is THREE!

Monday, December 23, 2013
My sweet baby is now THREE years old. I can't believe it, I don't even want to.
When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday all she would tell me was cupcakes, friends and snowflakes. Well, we live in Arizona… so the chance of snowflakes of the real variety were slim to none.
I decided to just do a snowflake themed party for her, which I was HAPPY to do because you know how easy it is to find snowflake decor in December? Yah, it was a cinch.

You might as well count this as my Christmas decor post, because I highly doubt I'll get to posting about the rest of our Christmas home.

My favorite thing I did was a snowflake wall out of coffee filters. It turned out SO pretty, and anthropologie-esque. I never want to take it down.

The photo booth wall, that I forgot to take pictures of the kids in front of. Oh well. I guess I could say it was the "welcome" wall because people saw it right when they walked in.
Yes, I plan on taking down that wrapping paper & wrapping christmas presents with it.
Economical I know.

The birthday girl got a teepee for christmas. I had a girl locally make it for me, and I absolutely love it!

Babies breath looks like snow covered branches? Right? That's what I was going for.

Anyways, I think it was a success. The kids painted snowflake ornaments & it didn't turn into a disaster of epic proportions considering none were older than 4.
Grace & her friends had a happy time so that's all that really matters.

Getaway.

We snuck in a little less than 48 hour trip to California this weekend.
It is probably our all time favorite place to go, and what would a trip to Cali be without a day at Disneyland.
We get sucked in every. single. time.

It was baby G's first Disney experience. I was a little scared of taking a 13 month old to a themepark. I just thought she'd be tired, grumpy, uncomfortable, want to run around every where, and make everyone else's day miserable.
I should know my baby better than that because she is always pretty chill.
She was such a good girl! She went on a few rides even, she loved Pirates of the Carribean.
It was a good Disney day.

It was so beautiful the next day, we couldn't resist the beach.

It was a fabulous weekend with only a few minor meltdowns.

It was so fun to share two of my very favorite places with baby Grace. That is probably the best part of being a parent-- sharing what you love with your kids and getting to see them experience things for the first time.

I thought we could at least try...

I haven't taken looloo's one year photos yet.
Today she was happy and so cute so I thought I'd just slip one of my new headbands on her head and snap a few pictures.
Well... she wanted nothing to do with it.

Maybe another day... at least I know that my new ruffle band looks adorable on her little head.

The funniest part about being a mom.

Thursday, January 5, 2012
I would start by apologizing for not being around lately except that I really have no excuse.
Besides the fact that I've been busy off refinishing our dining room  table that still sits half-primed in my garage at this very moment.
The fact that it's not finished yet five days after I started it I think pretty much voids it of being a valid excuse.
So all I can say is whoops.

Today when Gracieloo woke up from her afternoon nap groggy as usual, just wanting to cuddle and watch Mickey Mouse on my lap I kind of laughed to myself because our "waking up" routines are so much alike.
We both take it slow, just relax a little until we regain full consciousness.
I decided it right then and there--
The total best part about being a mom is seeing your child act like you and your husband.
Also it might be the most terrifying too.

I love her little personality so much and I get to see more of it every day as she grows into the cutest little person I ever did see.

Our little lady.

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Today my baby turns 1 year old.
We had a little celebration last night with family.

I'm a little in denial that:

a. it's been a year since she was born
b. that I am a mom
 c. that my baby walks, talks, and has such a HUGE personality
d. that I am a mom [ p.s. does that ever go away?]

We totally lucked out with baby G. She is the best baby you could ask for.
Easy going, friendly as ever, hilarious like her daddy, and so sweet.
She has never caused a fuss about much since day 1.

Gracie lady is my best buddy.
She has quite the sense of humor, and cracks me up on a daily basis.
I love that she is my mini me.

We love her so much. Spenc and I were talking the other day about how we can't even remember how life was before we had her because it feels like she has been a part of us forever.

Happy birthday little lady.

Whoo hoo!

I am officially signed up for a life changing class.Life altering- really!
I'm taking a One on One photo class with Emilie. We have been emailing back and forth trying to figure out all the details and let me tell you something, she is SO sweet!
I am SO excited &thrilled that we are going to be working together!
Whoo hoo!

Anyways, I thought I'd share some precious moments happening around here lately.
Can you believe looloo is almost 9 months old in 2 days!
Ugh, make her stay little.

She is completely fascinated by the faucet. She loves bath time! Since I snapped these pictures she has since grown out of her little baby tub. Sad day.

Today we took out to her first jungle gym at the park experience. She loved the swings &the slide.

ps- I was that momma who said my child would never leave the house without shoes on. Then Grace was born &shoes are pretty much her nemesis. She wears them when I force her, but they are off before I know it. She owns shoes though I promise.

I'm going to look back & laugh {someday}

This is what I look like today.

No. Makeup.
For a girl like me to wear no make up, you know it has been a doozy of a day.

1. I found ants in my kitchen this morning. I hate anything creepy and crawly. Having them in my kitchen TOTALLY ruins my appetite.

2. My babe is teething [ poor girl ].
She's been on a roller coaster of emotions with some hefty ups & downs.

I miss my happy, giggly, bouncy, chatty little girl. Poor thing.
3. There's a pile of laundry the size of Mt. Everest to be put away. I'm pretending that's nonexistent for the moment.

Okay so when I number them they don't seem all that bad but it's just not so much fun around these parts today.

On the up side of things, I'm working on my first line of headbands. Yes, you read that right my friends.
{sneak peak coming soon}

You know those weeks...

Friday, July 29, 2011
Ever had one of "those" weeks... the weeks where you get almost absolutely nothing productive done!
You know when you don't get half the things done you planned.
Everything you try to do doesn't go right.
You feel uninspired.
You only blog ONCE the whole week.
I have an excuse... a pretty good one too!
Spencer has had unexpected time away from work and so we've been enjoying one another's company.
Grace and I have been so spoiled having daddy around.
Grace and I missed him entirely too much between his work, his class, and hospital rotations.
It's nice to have the Mr. around the house, though it does make me insanely unproductive.
It's a very very very good unproductiveness.
I have ordered a bunch of things lately that I am super excited about! I can't wait to share them with you soon.

Want to see what's being made for me as we speak?! Let the swooning begin.
This beauty. Customized with a very personal touch.
Ooooh! I can barely hold in my excitement.
I ordered it here.
Lisa Leonard has some super beautiful stuff. I want it all!
These are some of my top picks.
Sun droplet necklace.
Rain or Shine so Glad You're Mine necklace.
Devoted bracelet.

You should definitely go check her out.
Speaking of checking something out... look at the babes... she is growing too fast!
I love her soo much, my goodness!

Things I love: Baby girl headbands.

Tuesday, July 26, 2011
My babe has quite the collection of headbands.
Baby Grace loves her headbands.

I have made them all by hand, and it's pretty much turned into my favorite thing to do.
Let me introduce you to some of the gang:

She has a bit of everything. From burnt satin to rolled fabric.

I love feathers. I think feather's on little babes heads amp up the adorability.

Aqua with rhinestones, pearls, netting, and feathers.

This one is quite large on a little babes head, but it is so precious and such a statement.

Lilac satin, lace, pearls, and feathers.

Peach toile, aqua satin rosette, netting, pearls, gem, and of course feathers.
One of my favorites. I just love the color combination.

This one is extremely special to me because she wore it to the temple the day our family was sealed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as I knew I was going to have a baby girl... I pictured a little girl growing up from new born- baby- toddler- preschool- elementary- basically through the ages wearing these fantastic head pieces.
I would look on etsy for hours drooling over headbands.
Being the crafty girl I was I knew I could make my own... and just the way I wanted them to be.

This is an art I've been working on... and still learning the ins and outs of it all.
I'm going to pick up some alligator clips so even us older girls can be in on the fun.
Mostly because well... I want to wear them too!

I'm not going to say if an etsy shop is in my future... but I'm seriously thinking it will  be.
{ EEEK! That is the first time I've mentioned that out loud }
I'm thinking that it will not just have headbands, but also some home made decor items too.
Let's be honest.. I don't really know.
I make this stuff up as I go along.
Today I ordered some new supplies for these lovelies and I am oh so excited about them!
